There are moments when, as a parent, you have to stand your ground.

Bedtime.

No candy before dinner.

No candy for breakfast.

A lot of battles are the result of untimely candy requests.


But sometimes, you just have to say, "Fine, now get in the car; we're already late."

It's fall, so you know what that means... pumpkin patch photos.  It's the equivalent to the Springtime bluebonnet photos. Parents drag their color coordinating children out to some farm / field / festival and try to get them to sit still long enough to take the most perfect and adorable photo so they can post it on Instagram / Facebook and have everyone tell them how cute their kids are.

Backpacking with a Toddler...

I've been wanting to build websites for the kids for a while now, and I figured it would never get done unless I just DID it.  So here we are.

I recently decided to do one of the most terrifying things I've ever thought about doing.  I took the kids on a (short) backpacking trip.

And it was a complete success!
